ABNA Announcement!

Amazon has just announced the 400 contenders in the SciFi/Horror/Fantasy categories for the Amazon Breakout Novel Award and Wounded Worlds has made the cut!

The decision was based on the concept pitch of the book and the next round of elimination will be based on the first chapter. We are extremely excited about this news and are keeping our fingers crossed as March 12th approaches.

You can see the other SciFi contenders here.

And now we present the winning pitch:

Thirteen years of fighting. Thirteen years of war. Thirteen years of horror, betrayals, suspicion, and sacrifices. This was all Ruan Altman had known from the time he was a boy. Forced to make choices no one should have to make, he committed acts that will haunt him forever.

But, for him, the war against the Hilean Empire is over… at least that is what he believes. As a member of the Civilian Service Corps on a peace mission to the newly liberated world of Talveras, he only hoped to assist the war ravaged planet in its recovery. But when he is dragged into an investigation pursuing enemy collaborators, he discovers that while the war may be over; the battle for his soul is just beginning.

Now he must reconcile the atrocities of his past with the fate of those he must condemn. However, when his own lover stands accused herself, he discovers that some of the former freedom fighters on this new world are no less merciless as he once was; and that the cause of the collaborators may have less to do with serving the Empire than he once thought. On a world with its own secret history of hate, the truth is never as simple as it seems.

As the line blurs between justice and vengeance, as does his own loyalty between his nation and his beloved, the ghosts of Altman’s past plague him as he makes his choice. The only thing that remains clear in this time of fragile peace is: Nothing is fair in love or war.

We would like to again thank everyone who has made this possible and hope you'll join us as Wounded Worlds looks forward to the future.
